I just had to call this sculpture "Freedom".  Everything about her, from the colors she wears to the abandon of her pose depicts that.  I think of her as a free spirit, her head thrown back as she laughs and enjoys all that life has to offer.  No rules or fetters will ever come in the way of her truly experiencing all it's glory and joy.

The faerie has been hand sculpted WITHOUT the use of any molds.  She is truly "one of a kind" (OOAK) and will never be repeated. No mold or impression has been taken from her so a similar creation will be impossible. She has been made using a blend of several different polymer clays, which are responsible for her skin tone.  I have used a strong wire armature for durability and painted her using several layers of artist's oils.

Her outfit is created from silks, bead and thread accents. Her wings are from mixed materials and have been hand painted. One can pose the wings carefully if necessary, but this should not be required.  Colors have been carefully selected to bring out a dramatic element to this piece.

Her hair has been created from Tibetan mohair and the color has been carefully selected to accentuate the doll.

As you can see, I have used the finest materials and much care has gone in her construction.

Her base, crafted from turned hardwood, has been carefully finished using several layers of sanding sealer and a wax protective finish.  The base has been buffed smooth and has a wonderful soft sheen.

The faerie including her base is slightly under 8 inches tall, (from base to the tip of the finger of her left hand).  She is about 8 inches long (from outstretched knee to right hand).  Her wingspan is about 7 inches.
