Lady Cornelia

This dignified lady is called Lady Cornelia. She has been poured, dressed, painted and costumed by me. The original sculpture is by the doll artist, Gina Bellous.

She has been poured in Flumo, which is a wonderful doll material and lends a beautiful translucent and satiny effect to the doll.

Although Cornelia is from a beautiful youthful doll's mold, I have aged her considerably using paint by enhancing certain lines on her face whilst highlighting others for increased contrast.  As a result, she appears to be in her 60's.  I have given her deep rose lips and nails to offset her light blue eyes.

Cornelia is costumed as per the Edwardian era.  She wears a soft silver and gray silk dress lavishly trimmed with black lace and gold cording.  The dress is tight on her waist and has been gracefully draped around her.  Her hat of complimentary colours has been trimmed with apricot coloured enamel effect flowers and sits at an attractive angle on her head.  Cornelia's jewelry comprises bracelets and rings.

Her hair is silver and taken up in a hairstyle popular during the era.

She stands at about 6 inches and  is a perfectly scaled dollhouse miniature.  She would look wonderful in both an indoor or outdoor setting or you could just add her to your doll collection, where she could stand out as a unique handcrafted piece.
