Katherina
I have named this
tanned, green eyed, auburn haired beauty Katherina. She
is made from Li-qua-Che, a pourable
papier mache, which despite its fragile quality, is a very strong and versatile
medium, entirely suitable for doll making. It has a smooth, satiny texture which
resembles porcelain and gives a realistic appearance to the doll.
She has been
poured and dressed by me, but the original
sculpture is by the doll artist Stacy Hoffman. Her hands and feet are by Doreen
Sinnett.

Katherina, is from the ranks of medieval
nobility, which can be seen from her rich dress and exquisite jewelry. She
wears black silk pantaloons and a short petticoat black petticoat which give her
costume the fullness I have sought to achieve. She wears a beautiful
paneled skirt in gold raw silk, which is topped by a full skirt in a beautiful
woven fabric of black and gold. Her bodice is lace backed by gold raw
silk. Her dress is trimmed with fine cotton lace. Her jewelry
comprises a necklace and gold earrings. Her long auburn tresses fall in
soft waves about her shoulders with a few wisps of hair framing her face.

She stands at about 5 1/2 inches and is a
perfectly scaled dollhouse miniature. She would look wonderful in a rich
indoor setting, perhaps posed in front of a mirror.
All my dolls are accompanied by a signed
certificate of authenticity.
